Written on 8/26, but unposted due to internet failure
There goes another summer. I always thought that 2 months is going to be much longer and I thought it was going to be fun. But instead, other than the TOEFL classes, my trip to Yunnan and the time spent with my friends and homeworks, the rest I spent on basically lie on the bed and watch the ceiling.
Many things came to my mind, my imagination of what I am going to do, but most of it are unrealistic and the rest I just end up not doing them.
Summer was a long time, maybe I should have gone to summer school, even though I am not going to forget the English I learned for 3 years if I don't go, but I think I miss the fun of school during the holiday. Most of my friends were out of the city, or country, some even went to attend the summer school in the U.S., but I stayed in China watching American TV shows.
I did improve one thing though, I did not wait until the last minute to do my homework this time, I did it just in time, sometimes I did the day after because of many reasons such as slow internet or I am just not in the mood or anything, but most of the time I did my part of work pretty well, and I am actually proud of myself for finishing some of my summer homeworks early.
It is a going to be a whole new semester and a whole new year, and a tough one I bet. We are preparing for college, there is only 2 years left and I have TOEFL and SAT to kill. This is not going to be the fun, exciting U.S. highschool like it used to be anymore, where there are only 2 classes and life seems so simple and easy. As we improve, our days ahead becomes harder, and we have to try harder to get a satisfying result. But oddly, I want the year to be slow, I want to enjoy every moment that I can have with my friends, because one day I have to be independent of them even if we stay in content, there isn't a crowd that doesn't broke up. 2 of my friends have already left the our circle, our community, but we will always remember them and wish them a good luck in the future.
It is a start of something new, a new grade and a new semester, and I will keep on learning and improving.
