The Outsiders News Article
Introduction: This is an assignment done in 19th January 2013 for our English class. The assignment was to write a new story about a story that we were recently reading -The Outsiders.
Reflection: The hardest part of writing this assignment was actually making this story up. It is quite similar to our journalism assignments since it is a news article except it is fiction, so it means that there shouldn't be any bias and everything I write have to make sense.
What I did well is making my news article perfecting fitting each event inside the story. But if I had to do this assignment again, I think I would not choose this event to write about but instead about the one that happened afterwards in the story.
I think that I improved my story making skills by writing this assignment, I learned to make up stories and placing it perfectly in the time frame.

Greaser Boys Saves Kids
Written by Hasil Zhou, Today –
Yesterday afternoon, a church up on Jay Mountains, Windrixville caught on fire, trapping little kids inside. 3 boys saved the kids, one unharmed and 2 hospitalized. According to one of the boys, they are greasers and had committed a crime so they ran away to Windrixville, and also according to the boys, they probably caused the fire by dropping a cigarette.
The boys came from New York. Apparently, 16 years old Johnny Cade had committed murder and had ran away with his friend Ponyboy Curtis. Dallas Winston had also assisted by giving them money and directions. However, before they are going to return to New York, the boys noticed the burning church and the commotions about children being inside which leads them to rushing in to save the children.
About a week before the fire, Johnny Cade had killed a boy name Bob Sheldon in a park, leading to him and Ponyboys’ getaway to Windrixville. They had been leaving in the Church for the past week, surviving with the food supply they have. But yesterday afternoon, as they are about to leave, the noticed the church being on fire, when they heard about the adults talking about children being inside the church, they rushed in to save those kids. The boys did not ran away and leave those kids to death or watch like most hoods do, they went back to save the little kids. While they boys are saving the kids, the fire burned through the house, and after they saved the kids, when the boys are about to leave, the church collapsed, severely injured Johnny Cade due to him unable to leave in time.
The Greaser boys were sent to the hospital immediately after the incident. When the teacher asked them who they are, Ponyboy said ‘We are greasers, we are running away.’ This incident had brought police attention over on the greasers, the government decided to put Ponyboy and Sodapop Curtis into a boys home, which Ponyboy is reluctant about. Johnny Cade, after being proven that he had committed murder is going to be charged with manslaughter.
Dallas Winston had fully healed from the incident after staying in the hospital for a while, but Johnny is still in the hospital because he is severely wounded. What will happen with Johnny? Will he survive this ordeal? Hopefully he will, as all the kids who were saved by Johnny Cade yelled in unison ‘Stay strong, Johnny!’
