This is my second reading response Journal to the book "the Catcher in the Rye."
Question: How is the story similar to or different from experience in your own life?
Answer: The main character of the story is a boy named Holden Caufield who just got kicked out of school. His life experience is different than mine in many different places. For starters, Holden is a boarding student and I am not, and even if I used to be my roommates are far more tidy than how Holden described his roommates.
He also developed a negative feeling for the school he is staying in because the way he described his school showed that he hates his school and the school's headmaster. He doesn't show his hard work on his courses and this lead him to flunking the courses and get kicked out of school. Though he is around my age and is so much taller than I am, he view things is such a negative way that everytime he describes something he always uses some negative adjectives. He also don't like to participate in group activities like the school game and likes to do things when and the way he feels like doing.
In SUIS teachers and students communicates a lot and this helps the students to work better and study better so it is a complete different study environment than the one Holden is in, which can lead to different personality. The only thing that I have that is similar to him is that we are both in Highschool.
