The income distribution in United States is very unequal, and this has caused various problems to the society. To show the problems caused by inequalities, we used three countries, Japan, France and USA.
According to the graph of income distribution, which shows how many times the top 20 percent of the society earns more than the bottom 20%. Japan is 3.4 times, France is 5.6 times and in the middle, and USA is 8.5 times. This puts the USA in a high income inequality position.
If we look at another graph that shows the relationship between index of health and social problems and income inequality, we can see that the USA with high inequality is worse than other countries, France has in the middle and Japan has a very low index of health and social problem.
This shows that inequality is causing social and health problems. Why do we know that? Because looking at the graph of the relationship between health and GDP per capita or national income per person, there is no correlation whatsoever. This shows that inequality is the reason and the culprit of social and health problems.
