Personality Disorders, Types of Violence, and Stress Responses in Female Who Perpetrate Intimate Partner Violence
Authors: Alicia Spidel, Caroline Greaves, Tonia L. Nicholls, Julie Goldenson, Donald G. Dutton
The Journal I read about is about the examinations of females who displayed violence behavior toward their intimate partner. The Scientists examined females with specific personality disorders and see the difference between the brain examination of this female with an average female's brain examination results and it showed that there are big difference in many places such as anger responses, post traumatic stress and all that high level stuff.
After reading it I realized that this journal is pretty different than a novel. Because this is rather a writing about a scientific experiment while novels will rather tell you a story about something. Novels also uses 1st person, 3rd person, or narrative views, while this Journal just simply tells you what the experiment is about. The language uses a lot of high level words that some I don't even understand the meaning, so some parts of the writing I didn't understand. The scientists also used scientific methods such as brain examinations to see the characteristics of females who exhibit violent behaviors so they can come up with a medication to treat this type of violent behavior. Other difference between a novel and this journal is that this Journal doesn't go through a lot of process to tell you a story, and it means that you don't have to dig deeper into the story to find things and just read what the journal is about. This journal is also harder to understand in some places because of the use of many scientific words the journal doesn't have any persuasive language and doesn't tend to teach the reader a lesson or anything. But now I did learned about something new, something related to psychology and how scientific journals are written.
